Checking your identity
Why do we need to check your identify?
The type of legal services that we provide often require us, by law, to ensure that we are satisfied you are who you say you are.
How do we do this?
We use a third party provider called Digidentity to perform these checks on our behalf. This allows you to complete this step remotely, securely, 24/7 and in the comfort of your own home.
If you do not have a suitable electronic device to complete this digitally, or if you would simply prefer to do this face to face then a member of our on-boarding team will be more than happy to arrange an alternative method of verifying your identity with you. You can e-mail on-boarding@eaton-evans.com or telephone our main line 01437 763383 and ask to speak to a member of our on-boarding team.
What is a digital log book?
We are part of a government backed initiative called 'Digital Identity Trust Scheme' to make it easier for those buying and selling residential properties to share their identity with multiple providers. The digital log book is a safe and secure place for a person to store information that only they can access and share information with other people.
It is hoped that home buyers and sellers will only have to produce their identity once, as you can share the digital log book with financial institutions, estate agents, financial advisors and solicitors.
